Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience planning and coordinating recreational activities
  • Ability to obtain Class B license within six months if not already held
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Demonstrated initiative and enthusiasm in working with seniors
  • Ability to follow PHS's faith-based mission and values
  • Proficiency in English communication

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or related
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, program, implement and coordinate recreation programming for residents
  • Previous experience with seniors preferred
  • Class B license or ability to obtain within six months
  • Strong communication skills including understanding resident preferences and needs
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills with residents
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Enthusiasm, initiative and positive rapport with residents, staff, families and volunteers
  • Compatibility with PHS mission and operating philosophies
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to communicate with all customers

Job Duties

  • Promoting the resident’s well-being and satisfaction by supporting liberty in all areas of the resident’s life
  • Developing and interpreting standards of care, guiding the interdisciplinary team to establish and implement the resident’s plan of care with the resident and family and household team
  • Helping to improve systems and eliminate barriers to resident-centered care and services
  • Collaborating with residents, families, professionals, and staff to implement programs that meet psychosocial and activity needs including diverse opportunities for meaningful pursuits, exercise, social interaction, growth, and household rituals
  • Leading and participating in daily chat circles with residents and staff
  • Assisting residents with individual or group activities and providing leisure life activities
  • Planning, implementing, and participating in outings and special events
  • Providing one-on-one interaction with residents based on preferences
