Job Requirements

  • associate's degree in recreation therapy, creative arts, and/or human services related field
  • minimum of three years' experience working with older adults
  • current or eligible certification in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or Activity Director
  • dementia engagement certification or willing to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • current or eligible certification in CPR

Job Duties

  • plan and implement programs and events providing residents an Acts Signature Experience (ASE)
  • incorporate wellness, person-centered living, and hospitality into program planning
  • ensure meaningful engagement opportunities for residents of differing cognitive and functional levels
  • develop programs based on Montessori principles of resident empowerment and engagement
  • tailor activities according to residents' personal history and preferences
  • promote body, mind, and spirit balance through diverse activities
  • support the Acts Engaged Living Philosophy in daily programming
