Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in therapeutic recreation or related field
  • Experience in planning and facilitating senior enrichment activities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to assess resident needs and customize programs
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to earn
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related credentials such as NCCAP, OTA/OT preferred
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Passion for working with older adults and creativity in programming
  • Valid driver’s license
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and Saturdays
  • Experience in senior care or enrichment programming is advantageous

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize, and facilitate group activities and individual sessions
  • Identify residents’ needs through personal assessments and life story interviews
  • Develop and implement activity care plans in coordination with interdisciplinary care teams
  • Maintain awareness of federal and state regulations and update policies accordingly
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle resident rights and complaints
  • Develop and distribute monthly activity calendars
  • Serve on committees such as Resident Council meetings and record minutes
  • Promote resident-centered care and lead a culture of engagement and dignity
  • Coach and guide staff in implementing enrichment programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required
