Job Requirements

  • Completion of high school
  • six months previous work experience in a similar setting preferred
  • knowledge of community resources, community events and opportunities relevant to wellness programming
  • ability to develop, plan and coordinate activity programs independently
  • ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently
  • basic computer skills
  • ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • self-motivated
  • valid MT driver's license
  • good driving record
  • physical ability to stand, bend, lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • willingness to work some evenings and weekends
  • compliance with health care environment policies and safety rules

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • six months previous work experience in a similar setting preferred
  • knowledge of community resources, events and opportunities related to wellness and life enrichment
  • ability to develop, plan and coordinate activity programs independently
  • basic computer skills including calendar and poster creation
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • capability to manage multiple tasks and work under time deadlines
  • self-motivated with ability to work individually and contribute to team discussions
  • valid MT driver's license
  • good driving record

Job Duties

  • Plans and coordinates activities for residents in multi-levels of care
  • creates, enhances, and maintains a culture of health, fitness and overall wellness
  • maintains and improves wellness and life enrichment programs with innovation
  • contributes to developing and maintaining resident participation and engagement
  • portrays an energetic, upbeat, vibrant attitude to enhance resident motivation and participation
  • participates in and cultivates community relationships and outreach events such as health fairs and education presentations
  • has a strong understanding of the Seven Dimensions of Wellness and strive to incorporate these in wellness and life enrichment planning
  • coordinates and transports residents via campus vehicles for off-campus activities
  • leads a variety of exercise classes and group activities
  • completes necessary documentation
  • has daily contact with residents, staff members, volunteers and resident family members and guests
  • maintains relations between community members, visitors and guests of residents and vendors
  • creates calendars, makes posters and writes the daily Chronicle for residents
  • obeys safety rules of St. John's United
  • attends mandatory safety in-services
  • keeps activity area and storage areas clean and orderly
  • supports the growth and actively engages in the Eden Alternative philosophy and work environment
  • follows the St. John's Guidelines for Customer Service by making eye contact and smiling, greeting and welcoming each person, seeking out personal contact, providing immediate service, using appropriate body language, and being gracious
  • follows policy and procedures on TB testing and annual influenza vaccinations
  • attends all mandatory in-services
  • performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Life
