Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • vocational or technical school training in legal secretarial studies, business, bookkeeping, secretarial science or related field
  • minimum of two years experience overseeing daily office operations and performing routine bookkeeping tasks
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • knowledge of relevant laws and court procedures
  • proficiency with office equipment and software
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Maintain records for the Court
  • serve as the office receptionist and screen incoming calls and visitors
  • determine and endorse implementation of motions
  • monitor time limits on pending cases
  • manage caseload for all State Court civil dockets
  • retain Senior Judges for calendar conflicts
  • seek language interpreter contractors
  • coordinate court activities including arranging for Court Reporters and interpreters
  • prepare court documents and forms
  • maintain master annual State Court Calendar
  • prepare and monitor department budget
  • maintain confidentiality of sealed documents
  • perform clerical and secretarial functions
  • perform administrative support for special projects
  • manage correspondence and mail
  • perform routine bookkeeping and budget monitoring
  • administer department payroll
  • maintain office and jury supply inventory
  • operate office equipment and Microsoft Office programs
