Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior retail or customer service experience preferred
- ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
- ability to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 40 pounds without assistance
- proficiency in cash handling and point of sale systems
- ability to use computer and related equipment such as printers, telephones, fax, and scanners
- must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly with guests and coworkers
Job Qualifications
- prior experience in a similar retail or customer service role preferred
- previous cashiering experience preferred
- ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations
- clear, quick thinking and decision-making skills
- effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
- ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- greet guests in the retail shop and provide assistance with merchandise selection
- increase personal and total sales for the retail outlet
- maintain shop cleanliness and proper merchandise displays
- ensure all items are properly tagged and manage inventory control
- stock shelves, counters, and tables to maximize product visibility
- accurately process sales transactions and handle cash according to established procedures
- complete daily sales reports and participate in periodic merchandise inventory
- maintain safety precautions and provide a friendly, service-oriented atmosphere for guests
- interact with other hotel departments to meet guest needs
- adhere to all policies regarding employee purchases
