Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • minimum four years experience as FAA Certified Flight Instructor
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor license
  • airline transport pilot license may be required
  • demonstrated college-level teaching ability
  • program management experience
  • community outreach experience
  • availability for day, evening, weekend, and distance learning instruction
  • adherence to university policies on nondiscrimination and equal opportunity

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • minimum of four years of experience as an FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
  • airline transport pilot (ATP) certification may be required for some courses
  • demonstrated ability to teach college-level aeronautical science courses including practical hands-on instruction
  • proven experience in program management and community outreach
  • strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse student populations
  • commitment to higher education principles and teaching philosophy

Job Duties

  • Teach assigned aeronautical science courses including AERS 260 Aircraft Systems Instruments and AERS 470 Airline Operations
  • prepare course schedules, syllabi, and student progress reports
  • maintain a minimum of one office hour per week per course
  • work under the supervision of the discipline chairperson
  • perform evening, weekend, or off-campus teaching assignments as required
  • deliver instruction via distance learning platforms as needed
  • undertake other related instructional duties and responsibilities as assigned
