Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of company orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- knowledge of customer service principles
- ability to communicate effectively
- ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds for bakery department and 55 pounds for deli department
- excellent interpersonal skills
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to maintain food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service
- take orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answer customer questions regarding products and assist them with selections
- prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
- slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality
- assist in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- use suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- clean and sanitize display cases
- operate and maintain equipment properly
- comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- comply with department and store operating procedures
- record production and shrink to aid in production planning (Bakery)
- assist in baking, frying, decorating as needed (Bakery)
- cull bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates (Bakery)
- take care of service counter customers (Deli)
- use ordering system applications (Deli)
- use Fresh Production Planner (Deli)
- perform inventory management processes (MSI, PAW) as required (Deli)
- ensure catering orders are prepared and ready for customer pickup (Deli)
- perform all sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers (Deli)
- serve and package products at customer's request (Prepared Foods)
- educate customers on preparation and reheating instructions of prepared foods (Prepared Foods)
- prepackage condiments for prepared food items (Prepared Foods)
- cut, slice, dice, chop food in preparation for chef (Prepared Foods)
