Job Description

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food service preferred
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • ability to use kitchen equipment safely
  • reliable attendance
  • adherence to sanitation and safety standards
  • ability to operate POS systems
  • ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
  • willingness to attend training sessions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in food preparation or service preferred
  • knowledge of sanitary food handling practices
  • ability to operate cooking equipment
  • basic math skills for cash handling
  • ability to follow recipes and portion sizes
  • experience with POS systems is a plus
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work under supervision
  • ability to attend training and workshops

Job Duties

  • Prepares and assists in serving food according to sanitary standards
  • uses cooking equipment correctly
  • follows correct recipes and serving sizes
  • evaluates food quality using objective and subjective indicators
  • checks temperature of food and equipment
  • follows meal pattern requirements for student meals
  • adheres to safety standards in food preparation, storage, and service
  • receives and stores deliveries, ensuring proper labeling and rotation of products using FIFO
  • places orders for groceries, milk, produce, and supplies with supervisor support
  • maintains personal hygiene to meet sanitation standards
  • accepts payment and makes change
  • operates POS system for students and adults
  • completes inventory of food and supplies when necessary
  • attends job-related training classes and workshops
  • prepares daily bank deposits for pick up
  • performs other duties as assigned
