- 1-2 years experience in sushi or Japanese cuisine preferred
- 1 year of leadership or station-lead experience
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members

Job Qualifications
- Passion for sushi and Japanese technique
- Strong knife skills and working knowledge of sushi preparation and cutting techniques
- Experience guiding or training others on a station
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with back-of-house and front-of-house teams
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment
- 1-2 years of sushi or Japanese cuisine experience preferred
- 1 year of leadership or station-lead experience
- English proficiency required, Spanish a plus

Job Duties
- Support the sushi chef and kitchen leadership in executing the restaurant's sushi program and overall culinary vision
- Maintain a hands-on presence on the sushi line, ensuring consistency, quality, and accuracy during service
- Prepare and execute nigiri, maki, sashimi, and specialty items while upholding standards for technique, presentation, and taste
- Help train and mentor sushi cooks, fostering a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
- Assist with daily prep, fish butchery, and ensuring stations are properly stocked and organized
- Uphold all food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation guidelines, especially around raw fish handling
- Support inventory management by monitoring product quality, reporting needs, and assisting with par maintenance
- Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth, timely service and consistent guest experience
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, curiosity, and respect in the kitchen
