Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 3 years’ experience in sushi preparation
  • leadership experience in a culinary kitchen
  • ability to work flexible shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
  • knowledge of proper raw fish handling and storage
  • valid food handler’s certification
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items

Job Qualifications

  • proven experience as a sushi cook or sushi chef
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • excellent attention to detail and creativity in sushi preparation
  • ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • culinary degree or relevant certification preferred

Job Duties

  • assist the Chef de Cuisine in developing and executing sushi menu items
  • lead and train sushi prep and line cooks ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish
  • maintain high standards of food safety sanitation and kitchen organization
  • monitor inventory and assist with ordering and receiving of sushi-specific ingredients
  • ensure proper handling and storage of raw fish and other perishable items
  • collaborate on plating presentation and seasonal specials
  • support a positive kitchen culture focused on teamwork respect and continuous improvement
