Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Minimum one year of relevant work experience
  • Ability to work an event-based schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of basic kitchen sanitation and safety procedures
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended standing
  • Must comply with uniform and personal protective equipment requirements
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Prior experience preferred in fast-paced or foodservice environments

  • Ability to exercise judgment to solve problems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Acts as informal resource for less experienced staff
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen equipment cleaning techniques
  • Thorough understanding of basic sanitation procedures
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and HAACP guidelines
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment including dishwashers, steamers, ovens, grills, fryers, flat tops, stoves, slicers, knives, and small wares
  • Minimum one year prior experience in team environment
  • Prior experience in fast-paced quick service, convention center, restaurant or foodservice environment
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to work event-based schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Oversees sanitation and cleanliness of dish room and all workstations
  • Oversees removal and proper disposal of waste including recycling
  • Ensures timely sanitation and storage of dishware and utensils
  • Maintains organization, storage, and labeling of chemical products
  • Maintains storage areas with properly sequenced inventory
  • Trains and guides utility staff on job duties and safety sanitation procedures
  • Assists front of house when necessary
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude
  • Keeps accurate temperature logs
  • Completes tasks delegated by Executive Steward, Chef de Cuisine, Executive Chef or Manager
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leads or management
