Job Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licensing and work cards including alcohol awareness and food handler cards
- Sommelier certification preferred but not required
- Must have alcohol awareness and Nevada health cards
- Ability to read and interpret policy, procedures, and related documents
- Fluency in English required, second language is a plus
- Ability to respond effectively to inquiries from employees and guests
- Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence
- Ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and group settings
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts including probability, statistics, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
- Physical ability to perform essential functions including standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and other specified physical demands
- Willingness to work varying schedules reflecting business needs
- Ability to interact professionally in a moderately noisy work environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Head Sommelier in a restaurant with an extensive wine program
- Previous work experience as a food server
- Advanced service knowledge and expert-level understanding of wines including vintages, regions, and food pairings
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Point of Sales systems
- Experience in planning and project management
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
- Knowledge of union and non-union working environments preferred
Job Duties
- Maintain the outlet wine list
- Control wine costs and manage wine storage areas
- Keep accurate wine inventory
- Train outlet staff in proper wine service
- Communicate with guests clearly and professionally
- Collaborate with the Administrative Wine Team on projects
- Ensure compliance with safety and company standards
