Job Requirements
- 21 years of age or above
- Ability to obtain and maintain licensing and active work cards including alcohol awareness card and food handler card
- Alcohol awareness certification required
- Nevada Health Card required
- Sommelier certification preferred but not required
- Ability to perform duties satisfactorily
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
- Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects and tools
- Occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, stretching, bending, kneeling, crouching or crawling
- Ability to lift or maneuver at least 30 pounds
- Ability to interact professionally in a moderate to loud work environment
- Flexibility to work varying schedules to meet business needs
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Head Sommelier in a restaurant with an extensive wine program
- Previous experience as a food server
- Advanced service knowledge and expertise in wines including vintages, regions, and food pairings
- Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office and Point of Sale systems
- Experience with planning and project management
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of union and non-union working environments preferred
- Fluency in English
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents
- Ability to respond to common inquiries from employees and guests
- Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations
Job Duties
- Ensure all Wynn Las Vegas core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied
- Promote positive, fair, and ethical relations with team members, contractors, and communities as a Wynn brand ambassador
- Make recommendations for new concepts and refresh existing wine concepts when appropriate
- Collaborate with the Administrative Wine Team on specific projects
- Determine strategic vendor partnerships for wine selections
- Prioritize safety by adhering to department and company safety standards
- Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge through continuing education and training
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
