Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year job experience
- Combination of experience, education, and/or training demonstrating relevant knowledge and skills
- Ability to relate and be respectful to a wide variety of people
- Superior customer service skills
- Clean and neat appearance
- Friendly, hospitality-oriented demeanor
Job Duties
- Works with department management as necessary and implements recommended changes as required
- Ensures that all dining service procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
- Develops and maintains a good working rapport with internal department staff and other departments to assure food service meets resident needs
- Oversees areas where food is served including cafes, club room, dining rooms, kitchens, and catering
- Reviews and checks all employees’ side work before they leave for the day
- Maintains and inspects kitchen and service areas for sanitation and cleanliness
- Monitors work schedules for hourly employees
- Trains, motivates and disciplines employees as needed
- May recommend employee discipline to Director, Manager of Dining Services, or Human Resources
- Ensures overall employee safety through implementation of safety procedures
- Prepares tables with napkins, utensils, and condiments
- Stays updated on menu choices and kitchen inventory, informing servers accordingly
- Reviews reservations and directs residents and guests to tables, presenting menus and assisting with selections
- Maintains excellent dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer needs
- Performs basic cleaning and fills in for absent staff
- Assists with special events
- Performs duties in absence of Dining Services Manager including ordering supplies, scheduling staff, and completing paperwork
- Other duties as necessary
