Job Requirements

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as files, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one-year previous retail experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Must pass background check including criminal history and sex offender registry
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers, and donors

Job Duties

  • Takes an active role and partners with the Store Manager in daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, point of sale operations, inventory management and rotation, ARC merchandising standards, and donations
  • Assumes responsibility for all day-to-day store operations including personnel and cash handling in the absence of the Store and/or Assistant Manager
  • Assists Store Manager to monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive store sales and increase profitability as projected by budget and goals set by Command Retail Directors and Command Administration
  • Schedules store employees to ensure appropriate coverage in store and donation center in the absence of Store Manager and Assistant Manager
  • Coordinates daily morning and shift change team meetings and provides coaching, training, and development to store employees
  • Ensures high levels of customer and donor satisfaction through excellent service while maintaining good community relations
  • Supports back room processing to ensure effective and efficient daily processing goals
  • Responsible for supervision, support, and conduct reporting of program beneficiaries when Work Therapy Assignments are in place
  • Secures store currency, inventory, and property including safe funds, bank deposits, products for sale, equipment, and building security in the absence of Store Manager and Assistant Manager
  • Ensures building security during non-operating hours with alarm arming and alert protocols
  • Maintains safety measures consistent with ARC policy and governmental regulations and reports safety issues and incidents immediately
  • Assists Store Manager and Assistant Manager in conducting and recording mandatory weekly store meetings
  • Completes all tasks assigned by the District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors, and Command Administration
  • May transfer or relocate to other stores based on business needs
