Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- six months of supervisory experience or related experience/training preferred
- ability to frequently walk and stand
- ability to frequently bend, stoop, and kneel
- ability to push and/or pull rolltainers
- frequent handling of merchandise and equipment
- ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally
- occasional climbing using a step ladder up to six feet
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- ability to handle moderate noise levels
- occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
- ability to provide own transportation for business needs
Job Qualifications
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
- understanding of safety policies and practices
- ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides
- ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- ability to perform cash register functions
- knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices
- knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- ability to drive own vehicle to the bank for deposits
Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service leadership
- greet and assist customers
- operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases
- collect payment
- make change
- bag merchandise
- assist customers with merchandise
- receive, open and unpack merchandise
- stock, restock and rotate merchandise on shelves
- build merchandise displays
- clean the store including floors, restrooms, and stockroom
- take out trash
- help set up sidewalk displays
- assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms
- open and close the store under direction of Store Manager
- perform Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager duties in their absence
