Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • current Food Handler's Permit
  • must enjoy working with and handling salad bar ingredients
  • should have a passion for preparing, cooking, and eating food
  • ability to read and follow a recipe
  • basic math skills used to double or half a recipe
  • have knowledge of appropriate knife skills and cutting techniques
  • ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • excellent organization and planning skills
  • must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills
  • ability to professionally and appropriately handle conflict
  • must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one's own success as well as the success of your team

Job Duties

  • Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the kitchen provides
  • responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the salad bar
  • confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
  • ensures the kitchen is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
  • delivers excellent customer service to all customers
  • prepares items for the salad bar including greens, walnuts, croutons, beets, bacon
  • mixes salad dressings
  • mixes to-go dips
  • packages to-go soups, salads, and sandwiches
  • sets up and/or takes down the salad bar and soup bar
  • responsible for inventory and ordering for the salad bar
  • receives and stocks product
  • teaches, mentors, and educates associates to help them be successful members of the team
  • provides honest, direct, and constant feedback to associates regarding their performance and areas of improvement
  • assists as needed to ensure the success of the kitchen as a whole
