Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years medical front office experience with strong working knowledge of reception, patient registration, scheduling, insurance referral and authorization procedures
  • One year previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Windows based applications, strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, familiarity with scheduling software
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills to interact effectively with staff and outside contacts
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to lead by example
  • Current State of Kansas Driver's License
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
  • Frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching, stretching
  • Ability to work on computer for extended periods of time
  • Hearing in the normal range for telephone and in person contact
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily work activities and schedules of employees in the Reception department at all locations
  • Contribute constructive feedback and insights to inform ongoing performance management and performance evaluations in collaboration with supervisor of department
  • Act as float receptionist or new patient representative when needed
  • Receive, respond to and document patient concerns and complaints regarding reception areas
  • Communicate with Director of Clinical Operations regarding departmental activity and problems to ensure management is aware of problems affecting the department
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state healthcare regulations regarding OSHA, risk management, and KOC liability claims processing
  • Promote a positive work climate, a team environment and establish and maintain a productive working relationship with all employees
