Job Requirements

  • Previous experience as a baker or in a related role preferred
  • proven knowledge of baking methods, standards, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • required to obtain food safety certification(s)
  • minimum of 7 years of progressive pastry experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or executive role
  • formal training from an accredited culinary or pastry arts program preferred
  • demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • proven ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills

  • experience in university or hospitality-driven foodservice operations a plus

Job Duties

  • Makes and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
  • operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
  • safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
  • ensures security of company assets
  • lead the development of high-end, innovative pastry concepts for a variety of campus-wide events and daily service operations
  • uphold the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation across all pastry offerings
  • mentor and inspire a skilled pastry team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • collaborate with executive chefs, catering managers, and event planners to deliver customized, show-stopping dessert experiences
  • stay ahead of industry trends and seasonal ingredients to introduce fresh, cutting-edge menus that delight diverse audiences
  • ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and university policies
  • manage inventory, purchasing, and cost control while maintaining a focus on sustainability and local sourcing
