Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 7 years of experience in pastry baking
- at least 3 years of leadership experience in a culinary environment
- food safety certification required or willingness to obtain
- ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- ability to follow standardized recipes and production guidelines
- strong attention to detail
- good physical stamina to meet the role's demands
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a baker or in a related role preferred
- proven knowledge of baking methods, standards, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
- required to obtain food safety certification(s)
- demonstrates basic math and counting skills
- demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- minimum of 7 years of progressive pastry experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or executive role
- formal training from an accredited culinary or pastry arts program preferred
- strong portfolio demonstrating artistic flair, technical mastery, and innovative design
- proven ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- experience in university or hospitality-driven foodservice operations a plus
Job Duties
- Makes and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
- operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
- safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
- properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
- ensures security of company assets
- lead the development of high-end, innovative pastry concepts for a variety of campus-wide events and daily service operations
- uphold the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation across all pastry offerings
- mentor and inspire a skilled pastry team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- collaborate with executive chefs, catering managers, and event planners to deliver customized, show-stopping dessert experiences
- stay ahead of industry trends and seasonal ingredients to introduce fresh, cutting-edge menus that delight diverse audiences
- ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and university policies
- manage inventory, purchasing, and cost control while maintaining a focus on sustainability and local sourcing
