Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a certified phlebotomy course strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in essential phlebotomy functions
  • Leadership abilities in phlebotomy duties
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to train and mentor staff
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of specimen collection and laboratory procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of a certified phlebotomy course strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in phlebotomy procedures
  • Leadership qualities during performance of phlebotomy duties
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with staff, patients, patient families, and vendors
  • Proficient phlebotomy, computer, and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Oversee blood collection and specimen receiving processes on assigned shift
  • Manage workflow at the specimen receiving table
  • Dispatch phlebotomists as needed throughout the facility
  • Assist Phlebotomy Supervisor with management of phlebotomy staff
  • Ensure all personnel are properly trained and maintain mastery of collection procedures
  • Participate in team planning to solve departmental challenges and quality issues
  • Assist with phlebotomy student training and new employee orientation
