Job Qualifications
- Culinary arts degree or equivalent formal training preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a professional kitchen with at least 1 year in a similar lead line cook or chef de partie role
- Proven experience managing a specific kitchen section such as pastry, grill, or sauces
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of cooking techniques and methods
- Ability to supervise and train junior kitchen staff
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- High attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and deliver quality dishes consistently
Job Duties
- Manage a designated section of the kitchen ensuring tasks are performed according to menu and recipe standards
- Prepare, cook, and present food items maintaining high quality and consistency
- Organize and oversee ingredient preparation ensuring readiness for service
- Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff providing training and feedback
- Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure efficient operations especially during peak times
- Inspect food quality and presentation from the station ensuring standards are met
- Manage inventory for the section including stock monitoring and assisting with ordering
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation practices maintaining cleanliness
- Maintain effective time management prioritizing tasks to meet service demands
- Assist with section breakdown ensuring cleanliness and proper storage
