Job Requirements
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- ability to read, write and communicate the English language
- ability to swim and perform lifesaving activities
- work is performed in a normal fitness center environment with physical discomforts such as noise, dust, and dirt
- high school diploma or G.E.D.
- two years' experience working as a lifeguard and teaching swimming lessons with some supervisory experience
- CPR and First Aid Certification upon hire

Job Duties
- Leads members and aquatics personnel during emergency situations
- assists in training employees in the proper policies and procedures related to pool activities
- guards the safety of swimmers by providing constant surveillance of the entire pool area
- directs and supervises the behavior of all swimmers to ensure compliance with pool safety rules
- provides emergency lifesaving assistance to troubled or drowning swimmers
- teaches various swimming lesson classes
- maintains the cleanliness of the pool water and surrounding area
