Job Requirements

- minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen with supervisory experience
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- excellent volume cooking presentation and organizational skills
- proficiency in various kitchen computer software applications including Word Excel G-Suite Zoom Paylocity Concur and Galley
- excellent time management and prioritization skills
- self-starter who can handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- physical ability to stand walk reach climb balance stoop kneel crouch crawl and lift up to 50lbs
- valid ServSafe Manager Certification or ability to pass within 90 days of hire
- flexible schedule availability including some nights weekends and holidays
- at least 18 years old with valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving guidelines
- willingness to participate in mission-driven programs such as food distribution and disaster relief
- internal candidates must be in good standing with no corrective actions within last 90 days

Job Duties
- exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of Feeding Tampa Bay
- guide motivate and oversee kitchen volunteers promoting teamwork and a positive experience
- train volunteers to ensure food is prepared cooked and plated to standard ensuring consistency in taste and presentation
- prepare daily meals for cafe locations including catering events and contracted meals as needed
- put together production plans to prepare high-volume meals strictly adhering to safe food handling practices
- enforce strict food safety hygiene and health and safety regulations including HACCP cleaning checklists temperature checks and logs
- maintain kitchen equipment cleanliness promptly report maintenance issues and clean and sanitize workstations equipment and utensils
- ensure proper ingredient handling storage check quality label and date all items facilitate inventory management and follow FIFO
- manage and monitor stock levels rotate stocks check orders order supplies minimize waste control food costs find ways to repurpose food
- visit other cafe locations assist with service and maintaining cleanliness
- ensure smooth shift running proper equipment use and efficient workflow often coordinating with front-of-house
- foster positive relationships with donors volunteers and community partners
- work with kitchen leadership to develop healthy culturally appropriate menus following dietary restrictions
- stay current on food safety regulations and best practices
