Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a housekeeping or janitorial role
  • experience supervising staff
  • basic computer skills
  • ability to operate a variety of power cleaning tools
  • general knowledge of common cleaning products and appropriate uses
  • ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds frequently
  • ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear
  • availability to work Monday through Friday with some weekend overtime and emergency situations

Job Duties

  • Supervise and develop the housekeeping staff
  • purchase and maintain the inventory needed on-site to perform daily maintenance duties
  • maintain a monthly housekeeping budget
  • compile a variety of reports relating to the housekeeping operations of the property
  • respond to emergency housekeeping calls
  • supervise and coordinate work shifts for the housekeeping staff
  • evaluate the performance of the housekeeping staff
  • assist in the hiring and training of necessary personnel for the Housekeeping Departments
  • clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and other work areas to meet health standards
  • clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers
  • empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport waste to disposal areas
  • sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors using appropriate tools
  • dust and polish furniture and equipment
  • keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
  • wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork including waxing and polishing
  • disinfect equipment and supplies using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers
  • perform general cleaning of units during turnover including appliances and bathrooms
  • perform all other duties as assigned
