Job Requirements

  • Previous hosting experience required
  • Lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Fine-dining or upscale restaurant experience strongly preferred

Job Duties

  • The Lead Host / Hostess plays a critical role in managing reservations, guest flow, and front-door hospitality while supporting service standards and team culture
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating to ensure optimal flow and service pacing
  • Build rapport with regulars and VIP guests, ensuring personalized experiences
  • Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns with grace and efficiency
  • Leadership & Host Stand Operations
  • Lead, train, and support host/hostess team members
  • Set expectations for service standards, appearance, and professionalism
  • Coordinate closely with management and floor leadership during service
  • Assist with opening and closing host stand procedures
  • Reservations & Communication
  • Manage reservation systems accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate table status and guest notes clearly with managers and service staff
  • Anticipate high-volume periods and proactively adjust seating strategies
  • Maintain accurate guest profiles and notes when applicable
  • Professionalism & Teamwork
  • Serve as a role model for hospitality, composure, and teamwork
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand
  • Support FOH team members as needed to ensure seamless service
  • Uphold all company policies, safety, and sanitation standards
