Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certificate completed or in progress
  • ServSafe certification
  • Completion of Dining Assistant Training
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Physical ability to perform duties including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to embrace person-centered care principles
  • Commitment to ongoing education and training
  • Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress of the position
  • Ability to assist in Resident evacuation during emergencies

Job Qualifications

  • Completed or enrolled in an approved Certified Dietary Managers program
  • Successful completion of ServSafe course and certification
  • Successful completion of Dining Assistant Training course
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and county regulations
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to recognize changes in Resident status and communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated interpersonal sensitivity and communication skills
  • Genuine interest in geriatric care and residents' wellbeing
  • Ability to function independently and handle physical demands
  • Commitment to person-centered care philosophy
  • Positive representation of the organization

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with household leadership team to oversee all aspects of household life
  • Provide guidance and support to all households by serving on the Neighborhood Council
  • Conduct audits to ensure regulatory requirements and best practices are met and followed
  • Assist Residents with individualized care and support
  • Promote Resident-centered care and participate in care plans
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the household environment
  • Manage food preparation, safe handling, menu compliance, and inventory
  • Facilitate mealtime conversations and kitchen-related activities
  • Support household environment including pets, plants, visitors, and activities
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Serve on committees and teams as required
  • Uphold confidentiality and professional representation of MSL
