Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • One year or more experience working in a food service role
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lb
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Proven lead or supervisor experience in a kitchen environment
  • Proven cooking and/or baking experience
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and production standards
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience in a food service role
  • Proven lead or supervisory experience in a kitchen environment
  • Demonstrated cooking and/or baking skills
  • Ability to execute large scale recipes and production
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus
  • Ability to handle production and sanitation paperwork
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Independently prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor/team members in the preparation of various food items according to production standards and recipes
  • Handle production and sanitation paperwork to ensure compliance with facility procedures
  • Ensure cleaning and maintenance of all food service equipment and work areas
  • Confirm adherence to safety and sanitation practices
  • Follow institution requirements in food preparation, oversight, and serving
  • Adhere to institution housekeeping and safety practices
  • Store food and supplies as per instructions
  • Perform high volume food production for large groups
  • May perform other duties as assigned
