Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 18 years of age
  • one year or more of experience working in a food service role
  • prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus
  • ability to lift up to 50 lb
  • ability to stand for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Independently prepare or assist in food preparation
  • instruct inmate labor in food preparation and serving
  • handle production and sanitation paperwork
  • ensure cleaning and maintenance of food service equipment and work areas
  • confirm proper safety and sanitation practices
  • follow institution requirements for meal preparation and serving
  • store food and supplies according to instructions
  • perform high volume food production
  • perform other assigned duties
