Job Requirements
- Minimum one year of commercial cleaning experience
- Experience with commercial cleaning equipment such as dish machines
- Experience leading or training staff in related settings
- Ability to complete required food safety training
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 62 pounds
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and around mechanical hazards
- Successful completion of strength and agility testing prior to employment
Job Qualifications
- One or more years of experience in commercial cleaning
- One or more years of experience with commercial dish machines
- Experience training and leading staff in a restaurant, commercial, or institutional facility
- Ability to complete and maintain required food safety training
- Preferred two or more years of commercial cleaning experience
- Preferred two or more years of experience with commercial dish machines
- Preferred experience working in large dining service operations
- Ability to multitask and work with little supervision
Job Duties
- Assist dining supervisor with overseeing dish room area
- Ensure completion of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks for dish room
- Process dishware, sort silverware, wash pots/pans, and scrape/stack dishes throughout meal period
- Replenish and move dishes to proper locations within the unit
- Maintain dish machine, conveyor belts, and transport equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and standards including trash removal and cleaning around dumpsters
- Set up and break down dish room daily ensuring sanitation practices are followed
- Train staff in proper sanitation techniques and provide performance feedback
- Assist in scheduling and staff rotation
- Communicate professionally with staff and customers
- Adhere to university policies including time and attendance, food safety, and safety guidelines
- Escalate emergencies and repair needs to supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned
