Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to three years of progressively responsible experience in food service preferred
  • Prior cash handling experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Required to attend work even when school is closed
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background screening

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years of experience in restaurant, college or café-style food service preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Prior cash handling experience
  • Knowledge of recipes and food preparation techniques
  • Ability to manage and motivate others
  • Familiarity with health code and sanitation standards (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings

Job Duties

  • Sets up and opens and/or closes dining retail locations
  • Moves between auxiliary operations as needed
  • Prepares retail service area
  • Posts menus and prices and familiarizes with ingredients
  • Orders, receives, stocks and displays items
  • Performs pre-preparation and hands-on production work following recipes
  • Employs and manages standardized procedures and checklists for service
  • Waits on customers in a timely and courteous manner
  • Adheres to customer service goals
  • Follows cash handling procedures and completes cashier logs
  • Maintains cleanliness and health code compliance in front-of-house areas
  • Manages student workers
  • Supports customer service surveys and marketing efforts
  • Participates in programming efforts and staff interactions
