Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years experience in custodial or housekeeping operations with emphasis in floor care or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Valid driver’s license and appropriate driving record
  • Successful background check prior to appointment
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and emergency overtime
  • Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and custodial equipment
  • Current work authorization when accepting position

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years experience in custodial or housekeeping operations with emphasis in floor care or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record in accordance with local policies
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning chemical use and disposal
  • Ability to operate custodial equipment including stripping/buffing machines, vacuums, pressure washers, and carpet extractors
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

Job Duties

  • Lead and perform custodial and housekeeping tasks to clean, dust, strip, wax, sweep, mop, polish, disinfect, sanitize, and vacuum campus facilities
  • Replenish restrooms and remove refuse and recycling throughout campus facilities
  • Oversee critical day-to-day custodial operations in supervisor’s absence
  • Provide leadership and guidance to custodial staff
  • Maintain positive communication with colleagues, supervisors, faculty, staff, and students
  • Safely use and manage cleaning chemicals following safety protocols
  • Operate a variety of custodial equipment and machinery effectively
  • Work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and emergency overtime
