Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years experience in custodial or housekeeping operations with emphasis in floor care or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Valid driver’s license and appropriate driving record
- Successful background check prior to appointment
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and emergency overtime
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and custodial equipment
- Current work authorization when accepting position
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years experience in custodial or housekeeping operations with emphasis in floor care or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record in accordance with local policies
- Knowledge of proper cleaning chemical use and disposal
- Ability to operate custodial equipment including stripping/buffing machines, vacuums, pressure washers, and carpet extractors
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Job Duties
- Lead and perform custodial and housekeeping tasks to clean, dust, strip, wax, sweep, mop, polish, disinfect, sanitize, and vacuum campus facilities
- Replenish restrooms and remove refuse and recycling throughout campus facilities
- Oversee critical day-to-day custodial operations in supervisor’s absence
- Provide leadership and guidance to custodial staff
- Maintain positive communication with colleagues, supervisors, faculty, staff, and students
- Safely use and manage cleaning chemicals following safety protocols
- Operate a variety of custodial equipment and machinery effectively
- Work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and emergency overtime
