Job Description

Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (LLPA) is a premier educational and recreational facility situated in Draper, Utah. Since opening its doors in March 2014, this world-class aquarium has become a beloved destination for visitors of all ages, welcoming over eight million guests. Job Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Experience as a cook or related role required
  • Food safety certification required
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision required
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • Previous supervisor experience preferred

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision required
  • Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Food safety certification required
  • Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Schedules and assigns daily work activities to staff and supervises the completion of tasks
  • Trains and guides staff on job duties, standard food safety and sanitation procedures, cooking methods
  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items as needed
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, grills, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • Ensures compliance with food temperatures and documentation throughout event
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils per guidelines and policies
  • Ensures clear and concise communication with stand leads, workers, and cashiers
  • Maintains excellent, friendly, and efficient customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and coworkers
  • Ensures security of company assets
  • Accepts constructive feedback and provides ideas and concerns to leadership
