Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cooking experience required
  • Food safety certification required
  • Ability to supervise staff and delegate responsibilities
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety procedures
  • Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • Previous supervisor experience preferred
  • Experience as a cook or related role required
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • Understanding of food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Food safety certification required
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Schedules and assigns daily work activities to staff and supervises completion of tasks
  • Trains and guides staff on job duties, food safety and sanitation procedures, and cooking methods
  • Cooks and prepares food following standardized recipes and production guidelines
  • Sets up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling
  • Safely uses food utensils including knives
  • Operates cooking equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses various cooking methods on meats, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to guidelines
  • Properly stores food following food safety policies
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service with a positive attitude
  • Follows Aramark safety policies including food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
  • Produces and maintains work schedules and may prepare production records
