Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year prior experience in culinary or related position
- Ability to obtain ServSafe certification within six months of employment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push food carts over 100 lbs
- Ability to work various shifts including holidays, weekends, and overtime
- Ability to tolerate noisy, hot, humid, and cold environments
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
- Ability to maintain personal hygiene and appearance
- Ability to work harmoniously with team members and residents
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to complete WorkSTEPS Functional Testing program
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year prior experience in a related culinary position
- ServSafe certified or able to obtain certification within six months
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English fluently
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and efficient usage
- Ability to work well in a team and harmoniously with others
- Demonstrated ability to lead and train culinary staff
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Understanding of sanitation and food safety standards
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions calmly

Job Duties
- Assign, supervise, and lead Culinary Artists in meal preparation
- Learn, practice, and train staff on core culinary competencies
- Prepare a wide range of food items including entrees, starches, vegetables, soups, desserts, and breakfast items
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations
- Properly label and date all food items
- Adhere to Dining Arts department protocols and guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness, stocking, and presentation of workstations during shifts
- Report hazardous conditions and equipment repair needs
- Assist with orientation of newly hired employees
- Participate in scheduled training and departmental meetings
- Practice effective communication within and outside the department
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Assist with catering and special events
- Ensure proper usage of cleaning chemicals and sanitation procedures
- Uphold resident and employee rights and department policies
- Maintain equipment and kitchen atmosphere
- Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as assigned
- Greet residents and guests professionally and courteously
- Strive for high food quality and service levels at all times
