Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of food service experience in a healthcare or senior living setting preferred
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Capability to plan and coordinate meal preparation schedules
  • Knowledge of food handling and storage requirements
  • Strong attention to hygiene and cleanliness
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to adhering to safety codes and infection control procedures
  • Willingness to attend required training and meetings
  • ServSafe certification completed within first year of employment

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent education
  • Preference given to persons with culinary or equivalent training and understanding of therapeutic diets
  • Minimum one year food service experience in a health care dietary setting is desired
  • General knowledge of quantity food preparation, portioning, and services
  • ServSafe certification must be completed within the first year of employment

Job Duties

  • Coordinate food preparation and meal service including nutritional snacks
  • Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods through preparation and service to ensure temperature goals are met and maintained
  • Plan and initiate cooking schedule to meet meal schedules
  • Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures and maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies
  • Clean equipment and work areas as assigned
  • Be knowledgeable of federal, state, and community rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Follow defined safety codes while performing all duties
  • Follow defined infection control procedures
  • Attend scheduled department staff meetings
  • Attend in-service educational programs as assigned
  • Understand community's fire and disaster plans and follow procedures during drills and emergencies
