Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • ServSafe or equivalent certification
  • Sanitation certification
  • 3-5 years cooking experience

  • Experience with sanitation and food safety
  • Knowledge of recipes, measurements and serving sizes
  • Quality control of plating and service
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient for job duties and communication with residents, families, and employees

Job Duties

  • Prepare food products in compliance with recipes and direction from the Executive Chef
  • Serve and garnish food products as directed on production records
  • Alert Chef to any edits on the recipe or inventory changes
  • Demonstrate skill in both hot and cold food production and willingness to learn and develop culinary skill
  • Produce food in a timely manner and serve at the proper temperature while maintaining quality
  • Operate and maintain various types of equipment and utensils in safe and sanitary fashion
  • Work as a team member to complete meals on time and support co-workers
  • Organize the station efficiently for meal production
  • Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets for Healthcare Unit
  • Follow safe food handling and storage procedures
  • Maintain standards of sanitation and personal hygiene
  • Participate in meal service
  • Comply with federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations and Plymouth Place policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Attend in-service and education programs
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
