Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- Illinois Department of Public Health Sanitation Certification within 3 months of start date
- ability to work Monday to Friday, 12pm to 8:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays
- minimum of five years of food service experience or two years of leadership experience preferred
- strong communication and organizational skills
- ability to train and supervise staff
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen equipment
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management or hospitality preferred
- completion of an ACF accredited culinary arts or hospitality management program preferred
- Illinois Department of Public Health Sanitation Certification within 3 months of start date
- minimum of five years of food service experience or two years of leadership experience preferred
Job Duties
- assist the Executive Chef in overseeing the cooks
- ensure compliance with local and federal production, sanitation and safety standards
- assist in training new staff
- notify Facilities of any malfunctioning equipment
- prepare menu items using standardized recipes for patients, cafeteria, and catered services
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
- monitor food quality and portion control
