Job Requirements
- high School Diploma or GED required
- Illinois Department of Public Health Sanitation Certification within 3 months of start date
- ability to work full time 40 hours per week including evenings, rotating weekends and holidays
- strong culinary skills and knowledge of food safety standards
- effective leadership and communication skills
- ability to assist in training and supervising kitchen staff
- capability to handle physical demands of the cooking environment
Job Qualifications
- high School Diploma or GED
- bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant management or Hospitality preferred
- completion of an ACF accredited culinary arts or hospitality management program preferred
- Illinois Department of Public Health Sanitation Certification within 3 months of start date
- minimum five years of food service experience preferred
- minimum two years of leadership experience preferred
Job Duties
- assist the Executive Chef in overseeing cooks
- ensure compliance with local and federal production, sanitation and safety standards
- assist in training new staff
- notify Facilities of any malfunctioning equipment
- prepare menu items utilizing standardized recipes for patients, cafeteria and catered services
- manage daily kitchen operations
- uphold sanitation and safety protocols
