Job Description
The Lead Cook position at Legends is a critical role responsible for organizing and overseeing the culinary team in their assigned area to ensure the efficient preparation, execution, and delivery of food. Working under the direct supervision of the Sous Chef and Culinary Supervisors, the Lead Cook plays an integral part in maintaining high sanitation standards and ensuring that all safety and quality guidelines are strictly followed in accordance with Colorado and local health regulations. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Relevant work experience in fast-paced food service
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina to perform duties including lifting, standing, and walking
- Knowledge of local health and sanitation regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Self-motivated and organized work approach
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance
- Availability for scheduled event dates
- Access to email for work communications
- Completion of required safety trainings
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Degree or certificate in culinary arts preferred
- 2 to 4 years experience in fast-paced restaurant, catering, or relevant food service area
- Lead experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEO), recipes, prep lists, menus, and signage
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Proactive, self-motivated, and organized
- Knowledge of sanitation procedures
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
- Ability to work well with others in stressful environments
- Maintain personal hygiene and well-groomed appearance
- Able to walk long distances and stand for extended periods
- Physical ability to stand, kneel, lift 30 pounds, carry items, push carts, walk fast, and bend
- Practice safe work habits and complete safety training
- Access to working email for communication
- Available for majority of Colorado Rapids games and additional events
Job Duties
- Organize the efforts of culinary staff in assigned area under direct supervision
- Assist Sous Chef and Culinary Supervisors in development and execution of menu items and recipes for concessions, catering, and premium locations
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in compliance with local health regulations
- Assist in training, safety, sanitation, and accident prevention controls within the kitchen
- Ensure all recipes and preparation methods are accurately followed
- Report and document hazardous conditions or unsafe practices
- Work closely with Sous Chef and Culinary Supervisors on food production, execution, and service
- Maintain a friendly, positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Fulfill assigned opening and closing duties including outdoor work areas
- Maintain awareness of all menus including special promotions
- Collaborate as a team member with associates and other departments
- Keep kitchen clean, sanitary, and orderly
- Complete closing duties and checkout with direct supervisor
- Know the kitchen layout and be able to direct staff and guests
- Be flexible for reassignment to different locations
- Complete other duties as assigned by Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Culinary Supervisors, or management
