Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning
  • ability to bend stoop and reach while carrying food product equipment trash or waste weighing up to 50 pounds
  • ability to lift carry deliver food items weighing up to 50 pounds throughout a scheduled shift
  • ability to work around 500 degree ovens and within 40 degree walk-in refrigerators
  • ability to stand and walk continually throughout a 10 hour shift
  • must have the ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by MSLA or any other applicable regulatory entity as may be required to perform assigned duties or as required by Live's operating standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • culinary arts courses or the equivalent experience
  • five plus years experience as a line or restaurant cook
  • ability to use all kitchen equipment and appliances
  • ability to read and write basic instructions
  • knowledge of PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • ability to be creative with cooking and food preparation
  • ability to read and interpret production lists menus and banquet event orders
  • ability to complete accurate record keeping
  • knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of food

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes or instructions provided
  • train new hires and instruct staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols
  • collaborate with the Sous Chef or Chef D’Cuisine to ensure overall success of the kitchen and restaurant
  • ensure stations are prepared to meet anticipated levels of business for the day assisting fellow staff when needed
  • validate on all stations including prep
  • accomplish daily cleaning duties in an efficient manner following sanitation guidelines
  • properly handle high volume cooking and plating while maintaining consistent quality of food in a fast-paced environment
