Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years cooking experience preferably in a high-volume setting
  • Food Handlers certification required
  • ability to work in extreme temperatures such as freezers and hot kitchens
  • ability to stand and maneuver for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 45 lbs
  • ability to push and pull equipment weighing up to 250 lbs
  • excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Read menu to estimate food requirements and assist Executive Chef in ordering food from suppliers
  • assist in training new culinary staff members
  • coordinate and expedite kitchen staff to accelerate service and ensure consistent food quality and presentation
  • prepare food items using standardized methods in a timely and consistent manner
  • measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • operate large-volume cooking equipment like grills, deep-fat fryers, and griddles
  • set up station with predetermined mise en place required for service
  • adjust thermostat controls to regulate cooking equipment temperatures
  • clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards
  • verify that prepared food meets quality and quantity standards
  • assist with guest inquiries as needed
  • follow all company safety and security policies
  • report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors
