Job Requirements

  • Minimum three years professional cooking experience
  • Ability to slice and portion meats and cheese
  • Ability to set up, break down, and sanitize slicer daily if applicable
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency in professional knife handling
  • Experience in following standardized recipes
  • Experience in organizing and maintaining kitchen workstations
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Accurate math skills
  • Maintain professional appearance and hygiene
  • Reliable transportation and attendance
  • Must pass lead cook screening test

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum three years professional cooking experience
  • Proficiency in multiple cooking techniques including sautéing, roasting, frying, broiling, braising, steaming, stewing, cold food production, and food presentation
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to demonstrate professional knife handling skills
  • Experience following standardized recipes
  • Experience organizing and maintaining kitchen workstations
  • Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation techniques, and preventing food-borne illness
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Accurate math skills
  • Professional appearance, demeanor, and hygiene

Job Duties

  • Provide quality meals to students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a timely manner
  • Oversee and ensure production and prep sheets in high-volume operations are being completed
  • Assist with executing and delegating kitchen tasks
  • Follow standardized recipes and cook large quantities/batches
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen workstations
  • Demonstrate proficiency in professional knife handling
  • Deliver excellent customer service
