Job Requirements

  • must be at least twenty-one years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • six months experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • six months supervisory or lead experience preferred
  • possession of current Food Handlers Certification for Colorado

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of food preparation and production for volume restaurant
  • able to read recipes and memorize and replicate food production procedures
  • ability to understand and follow direction from others and work well in a high-volume fast-paced work environment
  • proficient math skills with clear understanding of weights and measures
  • ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving
  • ability to perform multiple functions simultaneously and handle the public in a friendly and professional manner
  • effective verbal communication skills and ability to establish and maintain working relationships
  • knowledge of health standards and ability to comply with Health Department and governmental agency regulations policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • perform various cooking and kitchen functions with focus on achieving expected standards in food preparation
  • provide supervision for other cooks as needed
  • prepare portion and cook food products based on highest quality standards
  • perform final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items
  • prepare appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates
  • ensure compliance with health standards and safety regulations
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas
