Job Description

Job Requirements

  • must be at least twenty-one years of age or older
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • six months experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • six months supervisory or lead experience preferred
  • possession of current Food Handlers Certification for Colorado

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of food preparation and production in a volume restaurant
  • ability to read, memorize, and replicate food production procedures
  • ability to understand and follow directions in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • clear understanding of weights and measures
  • proficient math skills
  • ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving
  • effective verbal communication skills
  • ability to establish and maintain working relationships
  • knowledge of health standards and regulatory compliance

Job Duties

  • perform various cooking and kitchen functions with a focus on food preparation standards
  • supervise other cooks as needed
  • prepare, portion, and cook food products to high-quality standards
  • perform final plate preparation including plating and garnishing cooked items
  • prepare appropriate garnishes for hot menu item plates
  • follow recipes and replicate food production procedures
  • comply with health department regulations and safety standards
