Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar culinary role
  • Understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must comply with safety and hygiene regulations
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Strong teamwork and leadership abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook or lead cook
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to supervise and manage kitchen staff
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Familiarity with Marriott brand standards
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Culinary degree or relevant certifications preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise all line cooks
  • Prepare food of consistent quality following brand recipe cards
  • Ensure proper documentation on all food containers with adherence to rotation per SOP
  • Practice safety standards at all times
  • Review Marriott standards and ensure all requirements are met
  • Conduct food critiques
  • Handle scheduling and payroll duties as needed
  • Cook orders with adherence to guest requests and special needs in a positive manner
  • Be proactive with ordering and pars, food preparation, and equipment upkeep to eliminate service obstacles
