  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in food service or a similar role is a plus but not required
  • knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks

Job Duties

  • follow health and safety standards including proper food handling storage and sanitation practices
  • regularly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment utensils and work areas
  • interact positively with students staff and faculty to create a welcoming environment
  • address student dietary needs and preferences providing assistance as needed
  • assist in receiving storing and inventorying food and supplies
  • help manage kitchen supplies to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
  • participate in waste management and recycling initiatives
  • work cooperatively with other food service staff to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen
  • participate in staff training sessions and professional development opportunities as required
  • responsible for all phases of food preparation
  • maintain a clean safe and orderly work environment
  • supervise students during meal periods
  • regular and predictable attendance
