Job Requirements

  • Walk and stand continuously
  • Perform work both inside and outside
  • Sit infrequently
  • Lift, carry, and push 0-25 pounds constantly
  • Climb stairs frequently with access to elevator as alternative
  • Bend at waist, knees, hips and spine frequently and manipulate weights of 25 pounds or more
  • Squat frequently to reach below the knee and lift 25 pounds or less
  • Twist or rotate occasionally at trunk, hips, knees, and neck manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more
  • Reach frequently including overhead and below waist
  • Read clearly with or without corrective lenses
  • Hear telephone, alarms, bells, and signals with or without hearing devices
  • Have strong command of English sufficient to read, write and interpret administrative information

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Able to read, write, and understand the English language, and be able to follow written or oral instructions
  • Able to make independent decisions when the circumstances warrant such action and to remain calm during emergency situations
  • Able to deal professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
  • Knowledgeable of administrative practices, processes, and guidelines
  • Experience using computer software including Microsoft applications
  • Have patience, professionalism, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, and be willing to handle residents, staff and visitors based on their maturity level

Job Duties

  • Greet visitors seeking information about the property
  • Be responsive to the needs of people who inquire about the property and or who are in the building for meetings with administrative personnel
  • Direct visitors to appropriate office or resident apartment
  • Assist residents, family members, and guests with general requests
  • Arrange for tours of the property for individuals making spontaneous visits or those that have made an appointment for the tour
  • Answer telephones, record and channel information
  • Display knowledge of the services and programs and other pertinent information regarding the property
  • Manage mail meter, stamps, make copies, and other tasks related to office operations
  • Process incoming mail by sorting property mail and distributing mail to mailboxes
  • Maintain reception area in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Ensure that reception desk and lobby have current property literature on display
  • Ensure that lobby is free of excessive or outdated literature
  • Ensure that coffee and or refreshments are fresh and readily available
  • Perform clerical duties for property staff as directed by supervisor
  • Provide assistance in the dining room serving resident meals as requested
  • Support the Community's marketing efforts through positive and friendly interaction during property tours and telephone contact with the public
  • Communicate any observed or suspected resident change of condition to a supervisor immediately
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all staff, residents and guests, following established safety standards
  • Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments
  • Support a positive and professional image through actions and dress
  • Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned
