Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • current Food Handler's Permit
  • ability to work early mornings
  • availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • physical ability to handle repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to use good judgment and make decisions independently
  • basic math skills
  • strong communication skills
  • passion for food preparation and kitchen work

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • two-year college or technical school degree preferred
  • one year of kitchen experience preferred
  • current Food Handler's Permit
  • knowledge of kitchen products and cooking techniques
  • ability to follow recipes and use basic math for recipe adjustments
  • excellent organization and planning skills
  • strong verbal and listening communication skills
  • ability to handle conflict professionally
  • self-directed with a positive attitude
  • commitment to Harmons' mission and collaborative work ethic

Job Duties

  • Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • ensure the quality and freshness of all products and services the kitchen provides
  • maintain appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the kitchen
  • confirm pricing accuracy and signage for all products including ad items
  • ensure the kitchen is cleaned and sanitized daily meeting company standards
  • deliver excellent customer service
  • prepare all chef-prepared items following Harmons' recipes
  • prepare food for special orders and events
  • receive and stock product
  • train chefs and prep cooks
  • write production sheets based on department needs and sales
  • manage inventory and order product for the kitchen
  • provide honest and direct feedback to associates on performance
  • assist to ensure overall success of the kitchen
